The Millennials

I know. It's been a while. It's been busy here, but we're doing well. I really wanted to blog many times, but then, by the end of the day, my brain is just so tired, that forming simple sentences just seems impossible. Anyways.  I'll let you in on a little secret. I'm actually a nerd.  A book nerd to be exact. I love books. I just finished reading The Millennials by Jess and Thom  Rainer (I love our nook- what a fantastic invention). The Millennials is about the generation born between 1980 and 2000, currently the US's largest generation. The authors completed a large number of surveys of millennials and discussed their findings in this book. It was an interesting read, for sure (though it got a wee bit repetitive at times and was too positive on this generation in my opinion), and helped me to gain some insight on this generation I am a part of. I always thought I was unique, but then I realized that I'm actually more a product of my native culture than I had thought. I was encouraged to read that the majority from this generation have a passion to make difference in the world, tending to be more outward focused than previous generations. According to the authors this generation seeks peace, not conflict, and holds relationships to be crucial to life. I would recommend this book to anyone who interacts with Millennials frequently or seeks to gain insight on this generation.
