birthday!

I love birthdays. I'm actually more excited about my husband's birthday than he is. My most recent birthday did not disappoint.
The fun started a few days before my birthday when my husband suprised me with a Turkish tea set. I absolutely adore it. I also absolultely adore tea, this gift = perfect.
Just after midnight, on the very early morning of my birthday my hubby gave me a huge bouquet of flowers. I woke that morning to a few of my favorite people walking into our bedroom singing "Happy Birthday" and balloons! So fun. Then Papa C told me about another present- quiet time and breakfast at the neighborhood coffee shop. For a mom of three, this is a really big deal. Five years ago (before kids), I probably would have considered this to be a strange gift. Now? Three kids later? Probably the best present I could have received. It was delightful. Then, Seth and the kids picked me up and we headed up to my in-laws for more fun.
Upon getting settled in, after making some very slow connections, I realized Seth had arranged a special lunch for me. A TEA PARTY with my favorite foods! Berries, edamame, cheese and crackers, other tasty treats, and... TEA. He (with the help of my lovely sister-in-law) got me 30 types of gourmet teas. For lunch I choose emerald tea lily, tangerine, and scarlet teas to grace our table. Does this guy know me or what? A really great gift.
Then my birthday continued with more birthday fun, delicious cupcakes, and precious time with family. It had been a long time since I'd gotten to celebrate my birthday with my family. Though it wasn't in our plans to still be back in the States, and I certainly wouldn't have wished for our lives to take the turn they have, it was a sweet treat to be here during this time. Later on, Eden, Isaaq, and Atira gave me some very nice lotions and shower gel, and bubble bath. Sweet babies.
A few days later my Nanners and Poppers treated us to some delicious Red Lobster and I got the most treasured gift of enjoying time with more family. There was a lot of laughter, food, and fun. I'm a blessed woman.
