Isaaq's Haircut

A couple of weeks ago, I decided that my hair cutting skills were in need of a little perfecting. I also had a shaggy haired little boy in need of a hair cut. Perfect combination. I've never cut boys' hair before. I figured an 18 month old would be the perfect first attempt, as no one cares less about how his hair looks than an 18 month old boy (which, as I later discovered also worked to my disadvantage).
I strapped him into his booster seat and gave him a sucker to keep him distracted while I trimmed. He didn't know what to do with the sucker (Eden was sleeping at the time, but I'm sure she would have been glad to give him a sucker eating tutorial). After the delicious sucker discovery lasted a whole 5 minutes, when he decided that he'd rather stick his sucker and see how many strands of cut hair he could stick to it. Then he wanted to eat it, but was disgusted to discover that hairy sucker is not delicious, but well... hairy. At this point, I had about half of his hair chopped. Isaaq's patience ended at mullet time. He was completely fed up with getting his hair cut. This was also the point that I discovered that 18 month old boys are not the ideal candidates for honing your hair cutting abilities, not only do they not care if it looks bad, they also don't care if it looks good. Like they really don't care. Not in the slightest.
So, I did what I could with the nanoseconds remaining of Isaaq's haircut. Overall, I'd say it turned out pretty good (except the one spot right above his left ear when he turned his head just as I was hacking off some hair- that section ended up a little shorter than what I would have liked:).
Awesome haircut or not. He's my adorable little boy.
