The Beach

Eden had her stuff all packed and ready go to the night before
About a week ago our family enjoyed a highly desired and anticipated beach vacation. Only a few hours from our house, it provides sweet relief from the stresses of our every day lives here. We quickly realized that during this time of year, the beach gets a  lot of high winds in the mornings. So high, in fact, that we had to switch around our usual schedule as to avoid the crazy winds. Our mornings were spend enjoying leisurely breakfasts, going on short walks, or hanging out in our hotel room, if the electricity was on. Then, a little before lunchtime we'd get our beach gear on and ready, eat lunch, grab an umbrella  and go out to the beach! The kids love the beach. First  time for Isaaq, bazillionth  time for Eden (she has always consistently  loved the beach). Isaaq  loved sitting on  my lap while the waves rolled in around us.  Eden and Papa Clarkson enjoyed building sand castles and other such things.

Isaaq was pretty excited about getting his own can of juice

Beach bums
We also started a new family tradition for our beach vacations- family movie night! We watched Homeward  Bound II, Lost in San Francisco. Great movie. And mega treat for the kids- Eden and Isaaq both enjoyed a small can of Pringles. Isaaq ate his entire can in 10  minutes and fell asleep. What a life...
We also got to spend some time with some very dear friends of ours. That's their adorable little girl  in the picture above with Eden. Those two are so sweet together. Us Mommies even got some girl time sans kiddos (compliments of their awesome husbands). It was good for the heart and soul.
Beach. i heart you.
