Happy 2012! And we're back from another beach adventure! We spent a lovely 4 nights (!) at the beach. It was a sweet getaway for our family. I love not cooking a darn thing and sitting by the sea drinking tea. The kids loved the beach, well, mostly.
It all started with the rooms at the hotel being a little on the small side . Now, there's four of us in this really smally room. Eden would wake up at 4, 5, or 6AM and want everyone else to get up. Her racket would wake up Isaaq who usually likes to sleep until 7AM. This banter would wake up Mommy and Daddy who just want to sleep in a little bit. Afternoon naptime went similarly. Eden would wake up much too early, wake up Isaaq, which created grumpy Squakies. With all this being said, Isaaq didn't sleep as much as he would have liked. Last time we were at the beach he was pretty happy and loved the sand. This time he also loved the water and the sand, as long as it was within one square food of mommy. This was the only water or sand he wanted to explore.
This was our main hiccup. Praise the Father that it was still a wonderful and refreshing time. One night after supper were walking back to our hotel room. Papa Clarkson was holding Eden's hand, Eden was holding Isaaq's hand, and Isaaq was holding my hand. As we walked along together, my heart was filled with such joy. I'm so blessed. The Father has blessed me abundantly. How grateful I am for His lavish love to give me this sweet moment (and many others) of walking along enjoying the cool night air with my sweet family. Eden said as we walked along, "We're a family, aren't we?" Yes, sweet little girl, we are. I wish every little girl and boy in the world had a family to enjoy.
We also had fun burying Papa Clarkson in the sand. Eden had fun getting buried by Papa Clarkson in the sand. We also saw dophins, found a sand dollar, and enjoyed the beautifully shallow sandy beach. Eden's highlight of our trip was getting to eat Pringles (really really big deal here). Isaaq enjoyed a few naps under the beach umbrella, and splashing in the water next to mommy. We've been extremely busy around here, and we were so grateful for this needed break. Great way to start the year.
