Our day today. Every morning and afternoon, for this next week or so, Eden gets to pull an activity out of a cup. Then we paste it to a calendar we made. This morning's activity was "extra tea time!" where we got to have an extra snack and tea. While Isaaq enjoyed his morning nap we had banana steamers and cookies with Nutella spread. It was fun. Then we played with our Scrabble game. Well, actually, it was a slight variation of Scrabble. We turned all the pieces over face down and then took turns turning over a square. If the letter matched one of our other letters we got to pair them together and go again. It it didn't have a match with our previously drawn letters then our turn was over. It was pretty fun. She loved it.
For lunch today we had chicken and rice soup. I pureed Isaaq's and he devoured it. Seriously, that little boy can eat. Our afternoon activity was 'story time' where Eden could pick out all the books she wanted me to read and I would read them to her. She decided she wanted to have five books read to her. Funny girl. In the afternoon, after naptime, we went over to the neighbors for some tea. My neighbor, who will be getting married very soon, wanted to show me her new suitcase packed with lots of beautiful clothes and cosmetics that she'd gotten. From what I understand,, culturally when a woman gets married the husband-elect gives her money to buy clothes and other fun things for herself. It was fun to watch how excited my friend was over her new clothes, perfumes, and such. She said she spent over $500 (a lot considering rent here for a large three bedroom house is around $150/month). She showed me how all of her slips each match one of her dresses and how all of her head coverings match a specific dress. I'm so happy for her. I'm also a bit sad because she will be moving to a city far away because that is where his mother wants them to live (she will be living there too). Then we sat and enjoyed some tea.
Then we headed back home and chatted for a bit on the phone with loved ones. It was fun. For supper tonight I made fried potatoes and scrambled eggs. I told Eden it was time for supper and she said "I'll be over in a little bit. I'm reading my holy book right now." I told her that was fine and about 5 minutes later she walked over and joined me and Isaaq for supper. Isaaq has recently acquired some mad dancing skills. I'm very impressed and it's impossibly adorable. I tell him to dance and he bounces up and down. And if I'm lucky, he'll come over and give me a kiss afterwards. Love that little guy. And then it was time for bed. I called to Eden to start getting reading for bed, and I could hear her saying "Extra Tea Time! Extra Tea Time!" So I came down the hall to find that Eden had a little tea party set up. So I decided bed time could be delayed a bit and we sat down for some tea.
Eden: "Can I pour you some tea Mommy?"
Mommy: "Yes, please."
Eden: "Would you like milk and sugar?"
Mommy: "Yes, please."
Eden: "Can I stir it for you?"
Mommy: "That would be wonderful"
Ahh! She's adorable. You can have anything. you want sweet cheeks

Is Eden's holy book her Bible? Does she just to pretend to read it? What a little stinker.
Oh Emily, I LOVE hearing your stories of your days. Such sweet moments. =)
