A shout-out to my Apa (my father-in-law) who celebrated his birthday on April 16th. To celebrate Isaaq decided that he was going to try out this crawling business (this seemed to be a higher priority than learning to sit up). I think he was going to try to crawl to see his Apa on his birthday. The rest of us decided we would just try to Skype with Apa on his birthday instead. Seems to require less energy than crawling to the United States. Technology is such a gift. I'm so blessed to have this guy as my Apa. He is quite a character. And if you want someone to think of a lot of different ideas (logical, illogical, crazy, normal) he is the one to get a hold of. He's an "ideas man." He can generate a kazillion ideas in about 6.2 seconds, and loves to do it. One of my favorite things about him is listening to him laugh at his own ideas. Also, sometime if you talk to him, you should ask him about his preferences listed on his GPS system. Actually, you don't even have to ask him, I'll go ahead and tell you- 1) gravel roads preferred 2) interstates discouraged, 3) anything with the title of "Falling Bridges" automatically gets first priority 4) if the route doesn't include any restuarants with "sausage gravy and biscuits" in the title, automatic rerouting required. In all seriousness though, he is a very wise man. I've learned so much from his insights and at times, quiet (but bold) wisdom. And he really loves his grandbabies. And, I miss him a lot. I hope he knows how much we all love him! Happy birthday Apa!
