Last night. I went on a date. With my handsome hubby. And... I didn't carry a diaper bag, and we had no reason for children car seats- because- we went without the kids! It was awesome. A handsome man opened the door for me, told me lovely things, I think he totally is into me. We sat and enjoyed a leisurely supper and talked without being interrupted by words like "potty." We drank ice cream smoothies reminisced and laughed. We have not done this for six months (meaning we haven't gone on a date without the kids for six months- we have laughed and eaten plenty of ice cream during these six months). It was magical. We talked about having just enjoyed one of the sweestest months of our marriage. Not beacuse it was easy or laid back, to be honest it was really busy and crazy at times, but sweet because of the ways the Fathe rhas been leading our family. We now have "family time" every day, which is about 2-3 hours after lunch when we drink tea, maybe eat a muffin, and sit and play games as a family. We've also been very diligent in resting one day a week. The Father has been teaching me a lot about holding my tongue and being 'others focused.' It's been good. And beautiful. We came home and were greeted by our very sweet 2 year old daughter who was so happy to see us. It was sweet to have some time alone without the kids, and it was sweet to come back home to them. I am deeply blessed.
