Hi there!
It's been a little while since we've written anything, so I'll try to catch you up on our lives right now! We've been busy busy busy with language learning, projects, spending time with Eden, team stuff, and figuring out how to be a family here. Monday, Wednesday, Saturday I meet with my language helper for three hours in the morning and for one hour on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. On these days Seth meets with one language helper for two hours and then every day in ther afternoons he meets with another language helper for 2 1/2 hours. Make sense? Kind of...
Eden is just a delight. She definitely fights her naps but is alwasy so much happier after she's had them. She'll often cry and cry and cry after we lay her down, but then after about 5 minutes she'll usually fall asleep (though those 5 minutes often seem like a lifetime). It's just hard to explain to people that she needs to take a nap, even when she definitely doesn't sound like it (from all the crying). At 4 1/2 months she's just started to take interest in playing peek-a-boo and LOVES watching family on the webcam. She loves to be with people and despises laying on the ground when everyone else is at the table eating. We're starting to plan for when we introduce solid foods. For Christmas my mom gave me a fantastic book called "Super Baby Food." It has a lot of great ideas for making your own baby food and also provides some great advice for cooking healthy meals and snacks. Many of the foods this book recommends for the first foods are easy to find here, fruits such as mango and papaya. Breastfeeding has been going so well! We're hoping to be able to wait until she's six months to introduce solids. She continues to have a voracious appetite and enthusiastically enjoys every meal. Often in the mornings she'll give me a big smile, probably in anticipation of all the food she's going to eat. She's definitely teetheing and I know that some of her fussiness is on account of that.
Seth and I are doing well. Every day of marriage just gets better and better. There's always something more to learn about the other. There is much I admire about him, I am a very lucky woman. We go on a short walk on our day of rest and leave Eden in the very capable hands of Ron and Matt. It was nice to get out a bit and just be together.
Well, it's time to eat. I'm a little hungry. I love eating. Adios amigos!
