So, we've got some news of sorts. Seth and I decided our lives weren't nearly interesting enough and decided to expand our small family. Yep, we're having a Baby Clarkson! Wahoo! We're so very excited. We're on our 15th week of already and we've been blessed with a wonderful pregnancy so far. Weeks 5-9 brought a lot of nausea (all day long) and tiredness like I've never experienced before. It seriously felt like someone had strapped 15 lead vests to my body! I would sleep 11 hours at night and then take 3 hour naps during the day. The past few weeks have been a bit easier, my appetite has returned and I have a lot more energy. We decided to have a midwife oversee the pregnancy and also the delivery yet we're still planning on giving birth in a hospital. About two weeks ago we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time! For about a minute we listened to the quick heartbeat of our baby (around 165 bpm) until the fetus decided to hide in another part of the womb. We could even hear it when it moved! It was probably one of the most incredible feelings of my life. I continue to stand in awe of what is going on inside of me. Wow.
Over this past week I began to feel movement for the first time. We were pretty surprised because it's really early for first time moms to feel movement, it felt like a little fluttering/vibrating, pretty exciting. Lately, I've been craving sausage, eggs, and Ramen noodles. Salt seems to be the flavor of choice. Seth has been so very understanding in dealing with all my hormones and emotions. He talks to the baby in the mornings and has been very actively involved in every part of the pregnancy.
Yippee! We're having a baby and couldn't be more excited!

Hurray! Congrats to you both! You'll be grrrrreat parents I'm sure.
Good luck on all of your new adventures. Ruth and I will be praying and thinking of you along the way.

"it seriously felt like someone strapped 15 lead vests to my body"--LOVE IT!
I can totally relate! My favorite words to describe my complete exhaustion to my husband were these:
"I feel like I've been run over by a dump truck and then attached to it and dragged behind it for 13 miles..."
Isn't weird how that feeling is the best feeling in the world, though?
Love ya,
Angie Krueger
I'm seriously sooo excited for you guys and can't wait to hear more as you experience this journey of parenthood!
