Woof. It's been a busy one. We're all doing well but wow. Yep. Busy we are. It's a good busy, filled with a lot of really great things, but still busy nevertheless. We took a couple of days last week and went and stayed at the beach for a few days. We stay in a nice hotel, I don't cook a single meal, and we just relax, no working, no computer, no nuttin'. It was a much needed break. I'm already looking forward to our next little beach trip.

We first started out and things were a little iffy in the world of Isaaq Yuusuf. He was in a new car seat, hadn't been in a car for a couple of weeks, and just wasn't quite sure that staying strapped into to a harness was what he wanted to be doing. He was a little scared, but after a couple of 'blocks' he perked up and fell asleep.

This was Isaaq's third trip to the beach, and by far, his favorite. The beach itself is actually quite shallow and there's lots of little pools for him (and us) to play in. I got to try out my new burkini (swimsuit with full covering) and it was AWESOME. Totally changed my beach experience. Previously I'd tried to swim in my tent dress which equaled absolutely no fun. Sand stuck to me, the dress stuck to me, and it made me a little grouchy because I was so uncomfortable. Seth encouraged me to try to find something online that would work for me to wear at the beach here. Did someone say ONLINE SHOPPING!?! I love online shopping. So, I scoured the internet to find something a) I liked and b)something I could wear at the beach here, and c) something under $100 (because I seriously couldn't bring myself to buy something over $100). Turns out, the most stringent of my criteria was finding something under $100, as these puppies are expensive! I ended up ordering one from Singapore and had it shipped to the US. Total cost? $80 including shipping. A really good deal.

The burkini was great. And, it was nice not having to slather myself in sunscreen (my friends here still do not believe me that if white people stay in the sun for too long our skin turns red and it hurts). I honestly thought I'd get really warm in it, but the fabric was so lightweight that I stayed cool the whole time. And it dried quickly.
Eden, of course, loved the beach as always. Here's my favorite quotes from her:
(I'm singing a nonsensical song to her, that goes something like "You're my little chump chump chump, my very little bitty chump chump chump, little rump!"- I know creative:)MommyMully: "Are you my little chump Eden?"

Eden: "No!"

MommyMully: "Then who's the chump?"

Eden: "He is!" (pointing to the super annoying crows who always bother us whenever we're dining outside)

And, another favorite-

MommyMully: "Are you a beach bum, Eden?"

Eden: "No! I'm Beach Eden!"

I think she's adorable.
