Birthday fun! On April 13th at 12:24AM I turned the big 28. I like having an 'even number' age, so turning 28 seemed to be a good idea. I woke up on Wednesday to my sweet little girl coming in and saying "Happy Birthday Mommy" (seriously can it get any better than that?) accompanied by my handsome hubby who read me a poem he'd written for me. Aww. What a man, still makes my heart melt, even at 7AM when I can barely open my eyes. Then he headed off to work and Eden and I enjoyed some delicious homeade granola and yogurt. Later that morning I was planning on having a tea party with a few of my friends and neighbors here, but the kiddos were feeling a little under the weather, so I decided to postpone that part of the celebration. Then handsome hubby came home and we had some lunch together! Then we celebrated with a special family tea time with cinnamon rolls and a birthday cake complete with a candle for me to blow out:) After Eden and Isaaq went down for their naps Seth and I played a game of Banana Scrabble (my favorite, even though he ALWAYS wins). Then we went out for supper! We went to a place that makes awesome pizzas, so we indulged ourselves in a large hamburger pizza. It was seriously the best pizza I've had here. Seth's birthday present to me was just what I was hoping for- a trip to one of the Western food stores here to pick out some special treats (we usually don't go to this particular store too much because everything is pretty pricey). I filled our cart full of tasty treats like chocolate milk, CHEESE, nutella, Nesquick, banana ice cream, juices, maraschino cherries, etc. -all things that I don't regularly get my mitts on. I loved it! I'm seriously one of those people who thinks about food all the time; one of my regular internet addictions is looking at recipes on allrecipes.com. If you go out to eat or go to a different country I will probably ask you about the food. It's one of my favorite things to talk about. So, this cherished trip to the Western food grocery store was something special for this girl. Now this guy knows how to buy gifts for his beauty bride:) And, I got to read and listen to TONS of wonderful birthday messages from loved ones! Thanks everyone for making my day so special!
