Birthday On Site! I am one blessed chicken. I got to actually celebrate my Poppers’ birthday with him! In person! Meaning I got to wish him happy birthday all day long, without ever having to pick up the phone to do so! Because he was here with us! Oh, it was a fun day. January 12th fell on a Wednesday this year. I really wanted to make him a birthday cake, but we couldn’t find any butter in any of the stores so we decided to put candles in the ice cream instead. We sang happy birthday and enjoyed sambusas, and fresh mangoes. This is also when Popper opened his gift from us! He got a camel bell! It’s neato and makes a noble amount of racket (I’m sure this will be appreciated by allJ). On Thursday we headed down to the market and stopped by one of our favorite restaurants for some lunch. We were hoping to enjoy some of their delicious pizza (the only place in the entire city that makes pizza- we’ll there’s other places, but those places serve a pizza that’s more like a tomato sandwich than anything else), but we found out that they only make pizza in the evenings. So, we had a delicious lunch and headed back home to enjoy some naps. It was so fun to celebrate Poppers’ birthday with him. It was like birthday present to me to get to have him and my Nanners experience life here with us (will write more about their time here later). I do love my Poppers so and I hope he knows how much he means to me, my sisters (and other affiliated significant others), and my Nanners. Happy birthday Poppers! We love you!
