The 10th was a special holiday here where all the kids (and often adults) get new clothes and a new toy and their parents take them out and about. We, along with a lot of other people as it turned out, went down to one of our favorite restaurants to enjoy some juice and cake for a snack. Eden was a big hit and attracted a lot of attention. She handled it well and didn't seem to mind that there were people constantly coming up to her to touch her and take pictures. Good for character building I think. Afterwards, we headed back home and had a late lunch. Eden took a nap (as well as mommy and daddy). Since the natural gas that we use for our stove was running low (and there's none to be found in the entire country!) I opted to make Eden a funnel cake for her birthday since that wouldn't use up so much of our gas as baking
a cake on the stove. We all enjoyed the funnel cake later that evening. On the afternoon of the 11th, some friends came over to celebrate both the local holiday and Eden's birthday (though none of them really knew it was Eden's birthday- they don't really celebrate birthdays here. I had made some funnel cake for them to enjoy and then they all played with sidewalk chalk. It was a lot of fun.
I truly can't believe she's two years old. While she's already taking dips into the infamous "terrible twos" behaviors we're very proud of her beautiful little character that we already see so clearly. If she likes something she's eating she'll try to share it with you so you can enjoy it too, she's very patient, loves to help whenever she is able,
finds joy in the simple things (like wearing bowls on her head), loves to put barrettes in her hair, and dances like its no one's business. We're so blessed by her and can't imagine life without her!
