And it's been another busy month. We spent the past couple of weeks in Thailand. One week was in Phuket and another week and a half was in Chiang Mai. What a beautiful country. In Phuket we stayed at this delightful resort on the beach. It was simply beautiful. Since it was the low season the beach was pretty much empty allowing us to fully joy the beauty of God's creation there. There simply wasn't anything you could possibly do there that was not lovely. Sitting outside- beautiful, sitting inside- beautiful still, being a beach bum- still beautiful. I'd like to go straight back. Probably the most FANTASTIC WONDERFUL GREAT part about being there was getting to spend some time with my wonderful in-laws, my little sister Dizzle (Erica- or Chisel:), and Seth's godmother. It did my heart so good to get to spend time with them. It is SO HARD, to be so far away, though it has taught me to truly treasure every moment and take nothing for granted. Some of my favorite memories of Phuket include eating breakfast at "Bar at the Beach" every day, Eden's first excursion to the pool, watching Eden enjoy the sand at the ocean, painting my toenails and drinking tasty drinks out of coconuts with my little sister, celebrating Eden's 11 month birthday, drinking yogurt drinks, playing ImagineIff, boat rides to James Bond Island, and so many others that I can't think of right now. Our time in Phuket quickly came to an end. Sniffle. I had to say goodbye to my little sister and then we headed off for ChiangMai.
In ChiangMai Seth and I went on a date! Wow! We left Eden in the very capable hands of her Ama and her Apa, and headed out for breakfast. I love going out for breakfast! We went to a little cute cafe in downtown ChiangMai and afterwards browsed around an used bookstore (my favorite). Then- we got full body massages. Seriously, awesome. I think that was probably my favorite date in the history of ever. The rest of our time in ChiangMai was busy as we were fully occupied at the conference, though it was a blessed time of renewel and encouragement. Our time in ChiangMai also passed too qu
ickly and before I knew it it was time to say goodbye again. Sad face. Very sad face. My in-laws are great. Then we shipped out, endured an overnight flight back to this part of the world and spent the night. We arrived early that morning, so I made good use of our hotel bed and slept four hours that morning, three hours that afternoon, and 11 hours that night.
And now... we're back home. It's nice to be back (still miss our families of course). This is Eden, in ChiangMai trying out her new car seat. It is a beautiful new seat. We call it her queen seat:)
