It would be really wonderful if this worked. Today is my birthday. And it has been a wonderful day. My day started off at 7:30 AM (well, technically at 4AM when Eden uncharacteristically decided that she was ravishing and needed a little snacky) with Seth bringing me breakfast in bed complete with toast (made just the way I like it), strawberry banana yogurt that he'd made, and green tea, perfectly steeped. Then he read me a list of things that he appreciated about me (Emi's Favorite Game) and we enjoyed our breakfast together. The fun continued when he gave me my birthday presents. I was so surprised when I opened two presents of books. It was surprising because the culture we live in is basically illiterate so books are rare to find. He somehow found a place in the market that sold books! I am so excited to read them. He also gave me three beautiful pieces of fabric for some new dresses! And then I also got some tasty treats! Yum. I already ate one of my candy bars. It was delicious. I checked our email and got a note from my dad which included a very funny picture of family members wishing me a happy birthday. Then Eden woke up and gave me some "Eden kisses" (Eden getting close to your face and rubbing her open mouth all over your face). My fun day continued when my language helper and I went to the nearby market area to have my dresses made. While waiting for the dresses to get finished I enjoyed getting to use a bit of the language with some of the people and am so glad that I'm understanding more. We then stopped for some treats, stopped by her house to check on her son (he's got a cough), and then headed back to the house for more language learning. Then we enjoyed a delicious lunch and I got to hold a sleeping Eden for about 20 minutes (my favorite) before her nap. Then I got to talk with my Nanners. And now, tonight we're going out to eat at a restaurant to celebrate!
