Eden's first plane ride!
Flying is sure different with a baby along for the ride. This morning we flew from Minneapolis to Toronto. I was again reminded that I am blessed with an excellent husband, who did everything he could to make the day less stressful for Eden and I. We headed out from Gilbert at around 6:30 AM and arrived at MSP at 10AM for our 11AM flight! Everyone was so helpful, overall the whole experience of flying with a two month old went really well. Yikes, we were cutting it close- but the weather slowed us down a bit. Eden slept almost the whole ride up and didn't start to get fussy until we were about 20 minutes from the airport. Upon arrival we scurried through check-in and security and made it to our gate about 15 minutes before boarding began. The flight went really well. We held Eden for the entire flight, and she spent most of her time (as always) eating. Upon arrival in Toronto, however, Eden threw up all over daddy. The good news was that she wasn't bothered in the slightest:) Now we're happily settled in our warm hotel room and enjoying this opportunity for some relaxation time.
Here's some things we've learned as we prepared for this trip with our little one:
1) ride in the back of the plane, the sound of the jets are soothing
2) make sure the baby is sucking on something during take-off and landing (helps with air pressure changes)
3) be organized
4) allow for extra time
5) carry extra burp cloths
6) relax
